Troubleshooting Fire TV Stick That Won't Turn On
Common Causes and Solutions
If your Fire TV Stick is not turning on, there are several potential causes and solutions to explore:
Power Issues
- Replace the batteries in your remote: A weak or dead remote battery can prevent the Fire TV Stick from receiving commands.
- Use the power cable and adapter included with your Fire TV device: Using a different cable or adapter may not provide the necessary power.
- If you lose your Fire TV device power cable or adapter, replace them: Loss or damage to the power cable or adapter can cause the Fire TV Stick to malfunction.
Software Glitches
- Power Cycle Your Fire TV Stick: Web software glitches or corrupted data in Fire TV can hinder it from turning on, booting, or loading. To resolve this, a power cycle is effective. Unplug the device from its power.
- Restart your Fire Stick: Press Select and Play on the remote for 10 seconds to quickly restart your Fire Stick. A restart can fix many loading issues and the black screen bug.
- Unplug the Fire TV completely: I know you probably tried this already, but for the few that haven't yet, unplug the Fire TV completely from both power and your HDMI.
