Verona took the lead in the 22nd minute through Cyril Suslov before doubling their advantage in the 48th minute with a goal from Samuel Di Carmine. Salernitana fought back and pulled a goal back in the 71st minute through Boulaye Dia, but Verona held on for a vital three points.
