iOS 18 Release and Availability
Apple's upcoming iOS 18 software update is set to arrive in the fall as a free download. The latest iteration of the iPhone operating system will bring a host of new features and enhancements to compatible devices.
Supported iPhone Models
iOS 18 Eligible Devices
As expected, iOS 18 will support all the iPhones that currently support iOS 17. This includes the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, which were launched in 2018. According to Apple's preview, you can also download iOS 18 on these models:
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max
iPhone Models Not Supported
However, Apple's new iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates are not all good news for owners of older Apple devices. The 2018 6th-generation iPad, for example, will not be receiving the update.
